Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Kshema Two-wheeler bundled policy (1+5)?
A Bundled Two-Wheeler Policy provides long-term third-party liability coverage along with one year of own damage protection for new two-wheelers, including motorcycles and scooters.
While the third-party liability cover remains valid for the entire bundled policy tenure, the own-damage cover must be renewed annually to continue protection.
Yes, you can enhance your policy by opting for additional add-on covers upon payment of an additional premium, subject to the insurer’s terms and conditions.
No Claim Bonus (NCB) gives a discount on OD premium for each claim-free year, is transferable to a new bike, and resets if a claim is made (without affecting third-party cover).
5. What happens if I do not renew my Own Damage (OD) cover on time?
Third-Party (TP) cover remains active: Your third-party liability coverage continues to remain valid for the duration of the bundled policy term, even if the Own Damage (OD) cover has expired. Inspection may be required for renewal: If you renew your OD cover after it has lapsed, the insurer may require a physical inspection of the vehicle before approving the renewal, subject to underwriting guidelines.
Yes, you may switch insurers at the time of your annual Own Damage (OD) renewal by purchasing a Standalone Own Damage Policy from any registered insurance company. However, you will be required to provide proof of a valid and active Third-Party (TP) liability cover.
You can cancel a bundled policy only under strict conditions like vehicle deregistration or sale with proof of new insurance, and insurers give a pro-rata refund for unused TP years if no claims were made.
