He has an undergraduate degree in engineering from India and a master’s in risk management from New York University, USA. He has been involved with the insurance sector for over a decade while his family interests include agriculture & textile businesses. This gave him a first-hand experience and deep insight into the Indian agri sector and the workings of the Indian farmer. He decided to bring his expertise and his experience together to create Kshema General Insurance Ltd. He also established a successful insurance broking company, ITUS before taking the plunge in crop insurance with Kshema.

Rajesh is a technologist with over two decades of experience across insurance, automotive, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and high-tech industries. He was with Oracle Corporation as Senior Director in emerging technologies of Mobility, Bots, IoT, and Blockchain in his most recent stint. Prior to this, he was leading Oracle’s efforts to serve customers in their adoption of cloud and emerging technologies. Rajesh is an alumnus of prestigious institutions like BITS Pilani (India), Clemson University, South Carolina (USA), and State University of New York College at Buffalo (USA).

Deepa Karthykeyan is co-founder and partner of Athena Infonomics – a global impact solutions group. Deepa Karthykeyan has led several programmes in Asia and Africa with a focus on advancing equitable and safe public services in changing urban contexts. She serves as part of the Technical Advisory Group for the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD) and is a member of the IWA digital water program steering committee. Deepa Karthykeyan holds a master’s degree in economics from the National University of Singapore.

Mr Sivarama Prasad Tammana has served in different geographies over the last 40 years across banking, investor relations, appraisal of corporate & SME proposals, handling operations in agriculture, personal banking, investments, and stressed assets management. He played key roles in Andhra Bank and represented Karur Vysya Bank as Board of Director in Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organization of Tamil Nadu Limited (ITCOT). He served as a member of various committees such as ALCO, Credit Committee, Credit Risk, Central Management Committee and NPA committee and liaised with FIIs, HNIs, Merchant Bankers in India & Overseas as Chief Investor Relations Officer. He retired as the CFO and CIRO of Karur Vysya Bank Ltd after having served in the organisation in various capacities since 1994. He holds a B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering from Andhra University.

Mr Ravi Sharma brings in a wealth of experience in strategizing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and championing local and global biodiversity, forestry and climate change projects and programmes for the United Nations, World Bank, and Indian and international policy think tanks. He has successfully utilised innovative financial mechanisms to develop conservation and poverty eradication policies in both public and private sectors. He has designed and executed over 100 national and multinational innovative projects and orchestrated more than 50 international policy negotiations and technical workshops. He is an expert in designing project evaluation strategies for multilateral programmes and conducted evaluation of multilateral environmental projects in several countries.

Rajiv is a consummate insurance industry professional, setting benchmarks across customer service, sales, strategy, and customer relationship management, marketing, and business-related support services. He relishes the challenge of setting up businesses and processes with a keen eye on operational excellence to positively impact revenue. He earned his spurs during his long stint with Reliance Nippon Life Insurance and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance before that.

A commerce graduate from the prestigious St Xavier’s College, Kolkata, he completed his Masters in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management in the same city. When he is not busy streamlining operations and improving efficiencies, he can be found sweating it out in the gym or delving into the spiritual aspects of yoga and energy healing. An intrepid traveller, he also loves solving puzzles and is fond of reading.

CV Kumar is an insurance industry veteran with a three-decade long career spent in both the public and private sectors. He has extensive experience across various functions including underwriting, claims, reinsurance and marketing. He was with the New India Assurance Company Limited and worked at an insurance broking firm prior to joining Kshema. He is a graduate in Agriculture and a Fellow Member of the Insurance Institute of India. He also holds a degree in law from Osmania University, Hyderabad and a master’s degree in human resource management from Nagarjuna University.

Kumar Saurav

Chief Risk Officer

Kumar Saurav brings over 20 years of experience in his role as the Chief Risk Officer. He has been associated with the company since July 2023 and devises effective strategies to remain vigilant and manage multiple forms of risks. An accomplished risk professional, he is responsible for leading the Enterprise Risk Management initiative and providing assurance to the Risk Management Committee on the company’s exposure to Key Risks. His areas of specialisation include reporting to and extensive interaction with Risk Committee, setting up the ERM Framework and execution (including operational risks, technology risks & cyber security, business continuity management), liaising with regulators and representing the organisation at industry forums. He has previously worked at HDFC Life and Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

Sumanth D.S. is a Business Strategist and growth leader with experience across Finance, IT, and Sports.

He has deep understanding of the insurance landscape in India having served on the board of directors of insurance broking and microinsurance companies. He combines financial acumen with a strategic growth mindset to help businesses unlock long-term value and build sustainable competitive advantages. His experience in distribution of digitally driven services through fintech firms also gives him unique capabilities of execution to scale new business networks.

At Kshema, Sumanth has held the additional responsibility of managing the government business vertical while successfully implementing the PMFBY programme in 11 states across the country. A keen golfer, he unwinds by training for endurance races.

Ravi Teja Chunduru

Ravi Teja Chunduru is a corporate law professional with extensive experience in secretarial compliance, corporate governance and legal advisory functions. He cut his teeth in the infrastructure and insurance sectors in a career spanning more than a decade and half. He specialises in handling private equities and debenture listing while revels in newer challenges that enhance his knowledge and capabilities. He is a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), a Bachelor’s in Commerce from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, and holds a Master of Business Laws (MBL) from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He was previously associated with Chola MS General Insurance and GVR Infra Projects Limited.

He indulges his love for movies and relaxes in the kitchen, tossing up dishes for his family and friends even in his busy schedule. Travelling to shores near and far is his other passion.

Arinjay brings over two decades of rich experience in financial sector, including working with prominent insurance companies, private equity firms etc. Throughout his career, he has successfully spearheaded investments, multiple strategic projects, and initiatives across markets around the globe, significantly enhancing organizational value and efficiency. His professional journey includes pivotal roles at Aviva Life Insurance, Canara HSBC Life Insurance, and Global Growth – a US based PE firm. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and is an alumnus of the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. He assumed his role at Kshema in July 2023.

Prashant has been associated with the company since February 2023. He brings nearly two decades of experience in corporate finance, project finance, accounting, budgetary control & variance analysis, working capital & treasury management, mergers & acquisitions, auditing, and taxation matters in a global environment. Prashant has a proven track record in team building, process development, and handling complex accounting and taxation matters. He has previously held senior positions in organisations across various sectors like green energy, pharma and infrastructure. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a commerce graduate from Osmania University, Hyderabad.

Bhaskar is at the helm of Kshema’s marketing, brand, and communications. He comes with close to two decades of experience across different sectors in India, SEA and China. He drives brand, digital sales, customer delight & retention across all touchpoints and phases of the consumer journey using cutting edge data analytics. His focus is on creating maximum awareness about Kshema and building trust amongst the target group. He has worked in senior roles with OPPO, OYO among others in his career and is a management post-graduate from ENPC France.

Badarish H Chimalgi is a seasoned legal and compliance leader with a proven track record in steering complex legal strategies, regulatory frameworks, and high-stakes corporate transactions. He has played a pivotal role in structuring and executing significant deals, including a ₹1100 crore fundraising and a $300 million credit facility with a global alternative investment firm.A member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and a qualified legal professional, his leadership spans end-to-end M&A transactions, shareholder restructuring, cross-border deals, and enterprise compliance—ensuring governance alignment with evolving regulatory landscapes under the Companies Act, FEMA, SEBI LODR, and other key frameworks while acting as the legal lead for mergers & acquisitions and capital restructuring.

Jatin is a highly accomplished Actuarial Leader with over 20 years of experience across the insurance and financial services sector. A qualified Actuary and Chartered Accountant, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) and holds a Chartered Accountant qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, along with a degree in Commerce from Delhi University. He brings deep expertise in actuarial science, enterprise risk management and strategic decision-making across both life and general insurance domains.

Prior to joining Kshema, Jatin held senior leadership roles at leading organizations including Future Generali General Insurance, DHFL General Insurance, L&T General Insurance and Ameriprise India. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President –Actuarial at Future Generali, where he led the actuarial function and played a key role in business strategy and risk management.

Over the course of his career, Jatin has driven several high-impact initiatives, including the setup of enterprise risk management frameworks, development of economic capital models, and contribution to strategic M&A decisions within the insurance industry. He has also led large-scale transformation efforts in pricing, reserving, reinsurance strategy, and regulatory reporting, while working closely with Boards and leadership teams to enable informed business decisions.

Piyush Jain

Business Actuary

Piyush is a seasoned actuarial leader with over a decade of experience across the global insurance landscape, including the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and India. Before his current role as Business Actuary at Kshema, he served as the company’s Appointed Actuary, bringing a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management.

Throughout his career, Piyush has held pivotal roles at prestigious organizations such as McKinsey, KPMG, RSA Insurance Group, and AXA XL. Today, he bridges the gap between traditional actuarial science and modern technology, spearheading Kshema’s pricing catastrophe modelling initiatives while supporting the firm’s regulatory transformation and data science initiatives. Piyush is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), UK, and holds a degree in Commerce from Delhi University.
